Lizzy Tahsuda joined Ready for School, Ready for Life in 2025 as the Basics Coordinator. An educator at heart, she continues to serve as an adjunct professor at UNC Greensboro, where she teaches career and professional development. She brings experience from the Center for Creative Leadership and Action Greensboro, and values helping others build skills, confidence, and connection, whether in classrooms or communities.
She first connected with The Basics in 2021 as a parent blogger, sharing how she used the Basics with her infant daughter. Now a mom of two, Lizzy is excited to continue blogging while expanding her role to help more families discover simple, everyday ways to bond with their children and support early brain development.
Lizzy holds a masters degree in counseling psychology from the University of Kentucky and a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She and her husband enjoy outdoor adventures with their daughters and their rescue dog, Cricket. She is also a fan of podcasts, audiobooks, college football, and exploring local coffee shops.
Andrea Miller joined the staff of Ready for School, Ready for Life in September 2022 as Communications Coordinator focused on the Basics Guilford and moved into the Communications Manager role in 2025. With a background mostly in non-profit communications and fundraising, Andrea has provided communications leadership for a variety of organizational missions – economic development, private education, church communications, and educational support. With a deep interest in economic and workforce development, Andrea loves the long-term system-building approach at Ready, Ready and the potential to positively impact the life outcomes of the next generation. At Ready, Ready, Andrea’s primary focus is to support public awareness and use of the Basics through all communications channels.
Andrea holds an undergraduate degree in English from Catawba College as well as a master’s of public affairs from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a focus on community economic development. Andrea is an avid gardener and enjoys the occasional home improvement project. She is married with two young children and has called the Triad home for the last 20+ years.
