Teshanda Middleton
Teshanda Middleton is Chief Executive Officer of Ready for School, Ready for Life, where she leads a countywide effort to improve outcomes for children and families from prenatal through age 8. Her work focuses on aligning early childhood providers, health systems, community organizations, and public-sector partners around a shared strategy so families can more easily access support and children are better positioned to thrive.
Teshanda brings more than 20 years of experience across education, nonprofit leadership, and cross-sector systems change. Before joining Ready Ready, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of Memphis, where she led a period of significant growth, expanded services across schools, strengthened support for students and families, and launched workforce development efforts for young adults.
Across her career, Teshanda has focused on turning ambitious community goals into clear strategy, strong execution, and durable infrastructure. Her leadership is grounded in accountability, collaboration, and a belief that children’s outcomes should not depend on where they live or how hard systems are for families to navigate. She holds master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and in Leadership and Public Service.
