Coretta Roseboro Walker
Dr. Coretta Roseboro Walker was named Ages 3-8 Director in April 2023. She joined Ready for School, Ready for Life as a project manager supporting the ages three to five initiatives in May 2022. In this role, Coretta will establish and maintain strong relationships with key implementation partners and community stakeholders serving children ages three to five, oversee the early implementation of ages 3-5 strategies across multiple implementing partners, actively seek synergy with other early childhood efforts in Guilford County, and ensure project goals are met.
Prior to joining the Ready Ready team, Coretta led diverse teams at UNC Greensboro for 10 years, most recently as the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Parent Programs with the Division of Student Affairs for six years and four years as the Assistant Director for Residence Life. Before joining UNC Greensboro, Coretta was a leader in residence life at Coastal Carolina and Florida State. Coretta also currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Elon University in the Master of Higher Education program and in the Ed.S. program in the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University.
Coretta holds a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from UNC Greensboro, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Coretta is active within the Greensboro community providing consistent and inspirational leadership through progressive roles in the Junior League of Greensboro, Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, and the local school systems. Coretta is also a member of the Greensboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc.
Coretta is the proud wife to DJ Walker and the enthusiastic mother to daughters Carmen and Cara. When not serving the community, Coretta loves Starbucks, college and professional football, dance, and baking.
